Hi
I am building an internal wall ( non load bearing). I am confident in my abilities, but a little unsure of the terminology used.
The wall will enclose a stair case and must reach fire regs as we are having the loft converted.
1) What is meant by "400mm centers", is it the distance between the uprights??
2) There is no mention in the plans of any horizontal supports, would this be because they are not required, or would they be standard which the architect has assumed I know??
3) At what intervals would you fix the frame work to the floor, ceiling and existing wall, and any particular size of nail/screw??
I realise this is fairly basic stuff, but I'm a better DIYer than I am a scholar!!
Thanks in advance.
