I want to improve the insulation of a small room by either dot and dabbing insulated plaster board or battening and screwing on plain plaster board. Walls are sound but are plastered and emulsioned. I can't find any reference to dabbing on an emulsion surface. Can anyone confirm my feeling that dabbing will be secure on emulsion or do I play it safe and batten?

you would be sound dabbing sound block plasterboards or battons with insulation and soundblock plasterboards.
