Hi,
I've just moved in to a Victorian terrace, and have (tonight) taken out the repulsive gas fire from the dining-room. What's left is the rather nice (paintable) interior of the chimney, a paintable (plain) wood suround (and mantlle) and a repulsive (but probably expensive) black/speckled hearth.
I don't intend to use the fire-place for fires, but as a decorative feature.
What's the simplest/best way to cover a marble hearth?
Is there a way to tile on polished marble?
the marble doesn't extend into the cavity of the fire-place, so keeping it (shudder) isn't an option.
Cheers!
Adam
