Hi,
had my combi boiler serviced over 18 months ago and the engineer said that despite the age the boiler was in good condition and required no work. However, he gave me an amber warning because the flu was not positioned correctly by ‘today’s’ standards. However, the boiler could continue to be used as long as it did not need to be fixed (flu issue would need to be looked at).
Boiler is still working fine, however would like to get serviced again. I was wondering is it still fine to get serviced again with previous amber and if no issues again that we would just get another amber?
Just wondering as replacing will be very expensive, the flu presently goes up through a flat roof with a slight angle. Also the gas intake pipe is cemented into the floor, 22mm pipe into the house, however, somewhere under the floor changes to an 18mm which is too small for the new boilers. There is about 8-10m to the boiler from gas box with existing radiator pipes in the cement also, so digging out floor will be a massive job.
Looking to sell in a couple of years, hence not after a major outlay if I could get away with a service.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Gareth.
