Boiler Timer Issues - Ariston Micorgenus 23

Hi

I have just moved into a flat and it has a Ariston Microgenus 23 boiler which seems to work fine in terms of heating etc... My main problem is that is seems to be constantly on no matter how and what I set on the timer.

Do any of you have any advice or experience of this - maybe I am missing something very simple out? Can you help?

Do I need to turn it off and then the timer will turn it on i.e set the CH to off?
