Hi
I have a Potterton Netaheat Profile boiler, with gravity fed water heating open vented. When central heating is operating there is no problems but if just the water heating is on when heating is not needed I get very loud banging noises in pipes coming out of boiler, sounds like the water is boiling. Could it be an a trapped air problem, I drained system last year and problem went away for a few months. Any help appreciated

Cheers

Could be lots of things.
Check for an air bleed point by the HW tank.
Does the boiler thermostat work?
