I have a 'front' leak from my Bosch 1200 Express. The seal appears to be OK so what are the other likely causes?. I had a jam in the filter/pump recently with a hair pin but this has been cleared.

Sometimes after removing a dirty or clogged filter debris can get lodged between the filter seal & housing. As well as checking what John already suggested it may be worthwhile to clean the seal/housing interface. Before fitting the filter again put a tiny drop of oil or washing up liquid on the rubber ring to help create a good seal. It is worth noting that door bellow damage can cause similar symptoms.
