Hi there,

Don't know if anyone has any opinions/experiences that could help me in my decision-making process...

About to buy an integrated dishwasher, and had planned to go for a Bosch, as 'received wisdom' seems to be that these are among the best-built in the mid price-range. Planning on getting the SGV53E03GB model for £380:

However, then noticed that this Neff do a suspiciously similar looking model (S5453X1GB) for the same price:

Given that Bosch/Neff are the same company, I assume this is simply a rebadged model? In which case, Neff might be a better choice given that the name still has more kudos attached to it.

However, I then spotted this model by AEG (F35085VI) for £329:

I am attracted by a) the lower price, b) the fact that it has 'condensor drying', c) the fact that it is quieter than the Bosch/Neff (48 Db rather than 50 Db) and d) the rest of our appliances are AEG!

So I guess my question is...what would you choose!? What is the reliability record for AEB versus Bosch. There seem to be more people moaning about Bosch, but that could be simply because they sell more! The Bosch/Neff have a 2-year warranty, which is definitely attractive. Any comments on the relative noise/silence of this particular Bosch model?

Lots of vague questions I'm afraid, but your thoughts would be much appreciated.

According to the "Which" report Oct 2006

Dishwashers are pretty reliable, with 14 per cent up to six years old needing a repair on average.

It's a hat-trick for Bosch and Neff, as for the third year on the trot they top our brand league table.

Joining them on the podium are Miele and Siemens.

The least reliable brands, according to our survey, are Indesit, Hotpoint and Zanussi/Zanussi-Electrolux.

the "podium" had 91% reliability, and AEG had 84%

Sample size was 1847 for Bosch and about 200 to 300 for most of the others.

Thanks very much for the help. Have gone for an AEG oven/hob, and a Neff DW. I look forward to problem-free cooking and cleaning :)
