New to the forum, I posted a post earlier today and it didn't appear, apologies if this is a duplicate.
Original fault was that the heater element would heat up when there was no water in the sump. I am thinking I have come across 2 reasons for this but need some help in verifying if I have got it right. Or was there only 1 problem ?
1) The float in the sump was stuck up, when the sump was empty.
2) There seems to be a very poor water supply - this is where i need verification. The incoming hose off the mains is very high pressure, the inlet filter is clean as a whistle, but the hose coming out from the water inlet valve (is there something else on the manifold such as a restrictor ?) going to the matrix on the left hand side of the appliance delivers only 600mL per minute. I am thinking this is too low a flow - just over a pint a minute.
A combination of the 2 problems meant the heater would turn on when there was no water in the sump. (or is it just the float switch in the sump that is a problem ??)
