Hi folks,

If possible could someone give me a spot of help! My backyard is cemented, and there is a rectangle cut out in the corner which I have cleared to rough soil with broken old bricks in.

I want to build a brick barbeque in this space, either from a BnQ flatpack or from scratch. The question is what do I need to prepare the ground before I begin? Like foundations or something?

I appreciate any help!

if your building it in that area just infill it with a few inches of concrete. that will be enough for the barbecue, no real weight to it, just gives it a firm level base to start from

Cheers Thermo, I'm no expert at cementing. Do I just want normal basic cement as it's a little amount to cover would it be fine to mix it up in a bucket, pour it on and level it off?

use ballast and mix that with cement about 1:6. How bigs the area?

Roughly 3' x 1' I'll measure it properly in the morning and post a reply again!
