cable in floor

can i run speaker cables in floor i have cut screed out 25 mm and lay cables across floor i was just going to put cement over cables will they be ok

Cement will eat them a bit i think. Ideally they would be in conduit.
Conduit would give protection and allow additional/replacment cables to be added in, but as their speaker cables theres not the regulations there is with mains voltage so as long as they dont actaully fail you should be fine. Cant see the cement damaging the (presumably pvc) sheathing?

It doesn't need to be actual electical conduit. any kind of pipe big enough to fit a cable into and speaker cables are very small. I have buried one in grout before going across a tiles hearth. It survived at least 5 years and then i moved.
