Dear Forum Users,
Apologies first of all if I have chosen the wrong forum to post in.
We are looking to get double glazing, and there is one particular window where the sill needs replacing too because of rot. The surveyor who came around to quote for the double glazing pointed out a problem: we have three cables coming through the window sill: two separate phone lines and (I think) the tv ariel.
Should these cables be re-routed through the wall instead? If so what kind of tradesman do I need: electrical specialist, or just general handyman type?
How would this kind of job need attacking: presumably all the cables need unpicking from their holders (routed all the way up through the house to a back room, in one case), be brought back outside and then re-threaded through the new hole and pinned back around the skirting etc. Or is there some better option that I've not spotted?
Any pointers or tips about what to consider when choosing how to solve this problem would be much appreciated!
Thanks
