i fitted a new sealed unit in a 14 years old upvc window frame , customer is complaining seals on external beading are not water tight , ive removed beading and internal seals to check for any problems which may have accur while fitting , ive also checked sealed unit thickness aganist another unit checks out ok . could seals of perished or is beading not going back to orignal position , has anybody got any ideas how i can cure this problem
any help would be appericated

Hey sound like it could be a number of things, the old gaskets losses their elasticity over the years so when you have taken them out to change the sealed unit they are not stretching enough to compress the glass as tightly against the external bead as they once did, which means the seal on the outside will not be as good. The problem is new gaskets are hard to come by nowadays as new pvc windows use seals which are concealed within the frames.
Also might be worth checking the drainage holes are clear to ensure any water that does find its way past the bead will not pool and run into the inside.
