Can you add a 2nd socket to a spur if the spur is fused

Simple question. Want to add a socket in the bedroom but the nearest point to link to is a spur in the loft above.

I've not consulted an electrician yet but thought I'd ask here if it is possible (legal?) to add a socket in the bedroom by extending the spur in the loft if the spur has a fused switch to prevent it overloading?

If yes, what should the fuse rating be? 10 amps? It's just for plugging in a TV without trailing the cables across the floor.

As long as everything on the spur goes through the fused connection unit yes that is OK.

You would normally use a 13A fuse.

According to the regs the minimum cable size for wiring beyond the FCU is 1.5mm but personally I would use the same size as the rest of the circuit (most likely 2.5mm) in case the circuit is reconfigured in future.
 
If the existing spur is in the loft there's a chance that spur is off the lighting circuit, put there for a TV booster. If that's the case it's not a good idea to spur on further to a power socket which might, for instance, get the vacuum plugged into it.

Alternatively, the spur in the loft could be the end of a radial circuit anyway, in which case you'd only be extending the radial which would normally be OK and not need a fused spur to do so.

You need to know a bit more about that loft spur before going to work on it.

The spur in the loft is taken from a socket on the landing which is on a ring.

Find which socket on the ring final circuit(RFC) the spur comes, then break in to the wall at suitable near that socket, install a !3A FCU does not need to be switched, remove spur cable from socket install at load side on FCU, then take a feed from this socket to the FCU on supply side.
Then you can have as many sockets on this spur as you wish but resticted to 13A max load.
Is the RFC protected by RCD, if not the additional work will require a RCD/FCU combo.
