can you drill old hand made clay roof tiles?

I am planning to raise two pitched roofs both contain hand made clay tiles, I thought i could re-use the tiles but want to drill two holes like the modern day equivalents for additional fixing, has anyone done this or know if it can be done?

try it on one and see.

you will need a sharp bit and no hammer action

yep no problem I always use a masonary bit on hammer just do it onto a block of wood you will **** up a few all depends on their condition
