CANDY CD623 Doesn't Switch Off

I have a Candy CD623 dishwasher and when I load it and switch it on, it stays on permanently at the 1st setting and the water doesn't heat up. Can anyone suggest what the cause might be ?

your m/c is in heat pause, it is waiting for the water to get hot, since it is not getting hot it will wait and wait.

its not getting hot because the heater or its stat has given up
