Hi,

I am seeking advise on cavity wall insulation. My house is 90% Solid wall but in one of the bedrooms and maybe bathroom there has been a thermal brick wall built secured with metal things to the exterior wall. The gap is about 80mm wide and I would like to fill it for thermal properties. I cant get any free filling as they require at least 50% of the house doing so im looking towards alternatives.

The area that i need to fill is 1000cm x 200cm x 8cm which I think is = 1.6 cubic meters

I came across http://www.foamseal.co.uk/ and calculated I would need the larger kit, about £500, which seems a lot. I have also thought about using regular expanding foam but dont know if its suitable or cost effective - I cant seem to find out how much a regular can would cover.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
