Can anyone please give advice on why the central locking on my S type jaguar is not working on the nearside rear door. There does not appear to be any motor or wires within this door aperture.....any ideas would be welome. Thanks

We could possibly help you out if your Jag has a central heating issue but most plumbers are not too up on locks :D

The door lock is solenoid activated, its a common fault on Jaguars for these to fail.
WD40 may give a temporary fix.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, I have given WD40 ago but no joy.
Have now also stripped door panel out and found electric wire going onto door locking mechanism, does anyone know if there are any replaceable parts on/in this mechanism.

Many thanks for the assistance, it looks like a new lock is required and the link you forwarded is spot on, they have the part I require in stock.
:D
