Ceramic hob on socket ring

Just visited a friend who’s had a ceramic hob fitted in place of his previous plug in one. Paid £90 for the install and noticed when he turned his cooker off at the consumer unit the hob is still on. Basically it turns out it’s been wired to the kitchen socket ring through a 45amp cooker outlet which has a 2.5mm feed (used to feed the plug for the old hob)

Anyone got any advice on this? I know it’s meant to run on 6mm to an isolater, and those appliance installers aren’t gonna rip into his kitchen to put a feed in but in the meantime is there anything to be aware of before he gets a sparky in? Or will it just make the hob potentially weak/less powerful than it should be?

Pretty sure it was 6600W when we looked it up!

How many amps is the cooker switch at the consumer unit, and how far away is the hob from the oven?

32 at the consumer unit. The oven is about a meter away in a built in cupboard (floor to ceiling) I guess the best thing is to run some 6mm as a feed for the hob by joining it to the oven feed? In a JB? An try an feed it under the cabinet.

Certainly something along those lines. Actual detail kind of depends what's there. Definitely would not leave it as it is.

There’s a feed from the consumer unit into an isolater switch on the wall, then that feeds the oven. Could you spur off the back of the oven to feed the hob?

I would connect this: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/AA45DCOP.html to the isolater switch and then connect both oven and hob to it.
