I have a Mastermax chainsaw which uses an Oregon chain, I think it is an Oregon 21LPX. I have bought a little grinding machine for sharpening the chain but I'm not sure of the correct angle to set the machine. There is a number "25" on the depth gauges but I think this might just mean 0.325" pitch. I looked at the spec. on the Oregon website but it does not mention angles.

Are you sure it doesn't say 0.025 on the depth gauge?
The 0.325 refers to the pitch of the chain. i.e. the distance between any three rivets divided by two.

Here's all the info you need to sharpen your chain.
If you set your cutting angle to 30º, that'll be about right.

Looking down on the chain bar, imagine a line from the cutting tooth, 90 degrees (perpendicular) to it. The sharpening angle after that is another 25 degrees.
The cutting angle for chains is between 25 and 35 degrees anyway, so I guess thats where the '25' comes from.....not really sure though!
The other measurement is the chain pitch.
John :)

P.S Nice one Stivino :p

Thanks for the replies. I had been looking at the English language part if the chainsaw instructions but I've now found information about the chain in the Hungarian version. :)
