Changing CH circ pump

Existing Grundfos super selectric pump has failed(20 years old) Have got a Grundfos UPS3 pump from somewhere(new) .Can i use this as a replacement or are specifications very different?

Any advice appreciated CJG

yes straight swap just make sure you get the direction correct, both pumps have a direction arrow on the body
 
The UPS3 is a very powerful pump so you may find that constant curve 1 at 4.2M is well sufficient for your needs, PP2 at 3.8 to 1.8M or CP1 at 3.0M also worth considering especially if a openvented system as you don't want any venting/air ingress.
Note the old pump setting.

Thankyou for your input.We have normal vented system with header tank,its a large house so need a powerful pump.
