Cheapest decking stain

Hi.

Can someone tell me what is the cheapest way to stain decking.

I have the Cuprinol battery sprayer that I used for me fences. However the decking stain is £30 and will cover 36m2 for 1 coat.

I will need 2 tubs of this but will only get 1 coat.

I know this is the quickest way, but time is not really an issue as my father can do it for me in his spare time. It's on my own house so I'm not under a time limit.

i have used cheap wood stain but i had to use twice as much and it lasted half the time

Seems like you've already found the cheapest way!

As merlin50 says, the cheapest stuff needs more work and doesn't last as long - 2 coats of the Cuprinol will probably outlast 4 coats of a cheaper brand. Go for the best you can afford.

I think I'll buy the Cuprinol sprayable and give it a couple of coats.
