Hi

I know Ive done this before years ago but unfortunately I have a very bad memory, so just to remind me:

When descaling the HE on my Halstead Ace High Combi Boiler do I need to drain down the whole CH system? or just isolate the boiler and drain that down?

I wouldn't drain it via the PRV, I don't want to risk getting that clogged with a bit of crud, I guess I would gentle release the bolts on the HE and let the water drain in to a bucket.

Does this sound right? Any issues?

Thanks

K

Should probably add, the issue I'm having is the Hot water in the bathroom going Hot Cold Hot Cold etc. Doing it on the shower but just tried the taps and it's doing it there as well.

It's OK I just undid them and voila. Cheers mate

Tell ya what though, that silver bar that's underneath the HE does that just pull out of it's connection or is it bolted in? I've removed a couple of circlips but I don't want to force it and it ain't coming off easily.
