I built a conservatory about ten years ago and am now in the process of extending it, my problem is the roof, it is three sided, at the back is the apex over French doors, the front will sit on new door and windows, one side sits on a wall and the other attached to an aluminum box gutter, the manufacturer, Wendland don't deal with individual builders, my supplier would rather sell me a new roof and I don't seem to be having much luck with another of their suppliers in the Midlands. I wanted to source a new ridge about 2500mm, six rafters, 4000mm box gutter, fittings for the wallplate and six pieces of polycarbonate roofing.
I'm now considering moving the roof forward 1800mm and tiling the gap, the rafters would be just under 2000mm long and I thought I could put horizontal joist or noggins about halfway down using 4x2 and where it attaches to the kitchen extension create a fiberglass valley into the box gutter.
Is this the way to go? I would appreciate any helpful suggestions.[/wiki]
