Is SC3 the old C16 and Sc4 the old C24?
They are near equivalents, not exactly the same, but almost. C16, C24, D30, etc were brought-in to harmonise grading standards across the EU

What is construction grade timber

construction grade is what the other guys say,which is classification for strength in a structural situation, used for 1st fix carpentry thats mostly anything before plasterboarding,rafters stud etc,,,, and is fast grown pine with wide gaps between growth rings which is unusable for for 2nd fix timber which is all the woodwork after plaster boarding skirtings door frames etc,,,,,
