The contractor who installed our uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering on the garage roof omitted to install the plastic membrane eaves protector (as well as the bird guard), although they were in the brochure as standard.
I have asked for the bird guard to be installed, but am concerned that installing the eaves felt protector may require lifting the heavy profiled roof tiles, and dropping the guttering a bit, which may mean moving the screw holes securing the guttering. It could cause more problems than it solves.
The contractor is prepared to install it but says that the eaves protector isn't really needed because it's not a long run of guttering (about 8 metres) and the drop from the tiles to the guttering is small. The roofing felt was previously fitted to the fascia, I think.
Any advice please on whether to go ahead with the eaves protector or not? Will installing it now cause more problems than it solves?
