When connecting a bayonet fitting for a new cooker, is it okay to use a straight 15mm compression to half inch BSP coupling rather than souldering on the wall plate and screwing the bayonet fitting into that?

The problem is that with the normal wall plate the fitting sticks out too far and the cooker won't go back far enough against the wall.

As long as there is a pipe clip close to the connection to keep the bayonet fitting stable this should be okay shouldn't it?

Many thanks.

get someone qualified to do it.

they will know the answer, the cooker will be fitted so as to conform to the current regulations & your house wont blow up.

I am corgi registered but don't install cookers very often.

I was just wondering if there was anything in the regs that prevents me from installing a bayonet fitting without using a backplate? As long as the pipe is clipped and secure I don't see an issue....but always like to check these things.
