Hi guys.... Right, i'm in the middle of re-decorating my kitchen and the previous owner had a lead/wire/connection for a cooker hood but hadn't connected it. It is running from the fused switch (little white box) and was covered with electrical tape.. When i've un-done tape there is only 2 wires (no earth wire).. I'm having a cooker hood delivered tomorrow and was wondering if i need it to be earthed or not.

Hope that makes sense to anyone out there!!!!

thanks

Most cooker hoods are double insulated these days, and an earth is not required.
However, unpack your new hood in good time and check it out...if it says in the installation instructions 'This appliance must be earthed' then thats what you need to do, ideally.
