I've been trying to replace a dome camera with a covert camera. the dome camera was red/black - power and white/black to bnc/rg59. On the covert camera there were simply a red and black which i presumed were the power, and a yellow and white wire (no instructions) which i put into a bnc, then to the rg59. It comes back as fail, no signal is coming through.
Any suggestions?

you may need a new camera.

some are only 9v.

usualy the screen is connected to the -ve and the third wire is the centre core

A common configuration is:

Red: +ve
black: -ve
yellow: video
white: audio

You would connect the yellow to the center core of the RG59, and the screen of the RG59 to -ve along with the black wire from the camera.

The white may not be used.

Exactly as RF said you're unlikely to have done any damage.
