cracks in ceiling

I have moved into a new flat and there are cracks on the ceiling that have been filled. I want to paint the ceiling but it seems that the filler used doesn't end up the same tone as the rest of the roof.

Would some kind of primer help.

You need to ake sure the filler has had two coat of paint over itor it will sink in and 'flash'

Primer wont make any difference.

The other problem you may have is where the filler has been sanded flat, it will show up more against the more textured areas where the roller has been.

Whem this happens you need to roll over the filler first....then roll the whole ceiling.
