cylinder stat

think these are most commenly used on the high recovery cylinders.softus not seen one of those on the third pic yet,but im i correct in thinking the T used just has a blanking plate with the wires going through it and a bit of silicone sealing it :?:

Yes def dry pocket but not unusal for them to lock in the hole and not come out,if this happens just change for a normal cylinder stat.

pump in picture is a recent BG one check boiler is not on contract to them
 
if you can replace the dry probe there more accurate than a cylinder stat.
 
Thanks. Because the hot water is very hot and turning down the thermostat seemed to make no difference.

you have of course checked that the immersion is not on?
 
And you've checked all the other things that could cause the problem?
 
I dont know what else could or how to check it - any advice gratefully received.

In that case, please describe the rest of your heating system: boiler, whether open-vented or not, roomstat, programmer, any motorised valves, etc..
