Damp stain on ceiling

I just had a hole in my roof tiled over. Before being fixed there had been some water ingress that has stained the ceiling of my bathroom. Now I've fixed the source of the problem, how do I treat the stain?

Stainstop. It's a spray paint that can be purchased at most DIY and trade shops. After you've treated it with that, paint over with your paint of choice.

If you have some oil based undercoat/gloss hanging around then a couple of coats of that will sort the waterstain out, and its cheaper!
