my neglected boiler has gone into lockout, before this it became very noisey,oil tank 1/4 full. press restart and can hear click of ignition twice then lock out. Also where can I get a set of baffle plates as they have disintergrated.

Check your burner motor is not seized!!
I can turn vanes by hand so assume ok

You do not say but I assume that the motor does not run!
If motor turns freely by hand, check for mains voltage at motor!
Also check capacitor!!
Disconnect motor from oil pump and see if motor runs!!

With a multimeter that has a capacitance range!!
Failing that by substitution!!
You could also get your local oil boiler engineer to check it out !!!

Thanks for your help your first diagnois was correct blower motor was semi-siezed, had new bearings fitted by local electric motor rewind specialist £30.54. we are now warm and the wife is talking to me again (not sure if that is a good thing or not)
