Dyson DC07 is working fine except that it doesn't pick up.

Suction is really strong and works fine on smooth surface, but on carpet, it tends to lift the carpet because the suction is strong ... but strangely doesn't pick up the muck !

Been through the website help procedure, but doesn't show up anything.

Brush spinning and clean, and well aligned.

What can it be ?

Usually the opposite with the DC07......it needs it's sole plate to be pressed into contact with the floor, often enough.
Are you certain the brush is still rotating when in contact with the carpet?
John :)

Brush definitely rotating. Very strange that everything seems to be functioning, but doesn't actually pick up.
Brush doesn't look particularly worn, but maybe it is ...?

A curious problem!
Obviously, the motor creates the suction, and on the other end of it there's one belt to the clutch, and another belt from the clutch to the brush.
Check these, and also the convoluted hose that takes the muck up into the drum.....that's at the back of the sole plate, easily seen with the machine upended.
Is there loads of suction through the wand? You should see crap spinning in the drum almost immediately on these.
John :)
