Hi,
I want to build a canopy for my garage forming a basic lean to construction.
The canopy will span 2.3m i.e over the garage opening.
I have an external wall for support on one side but do not want any visible supports at the other side or posts at the front.
The canopy will have 3 rows of double roman tiles on approx weight 43kg/m2
The canopy will be 85cm out from wall on underside and 75 cm high.
What is the best way to support this? Will this be sufficient?
I was hoping to construct a series of triangular trusses and attach these to a wall plate top and bottom. The wall plate would be bolted (chemical or anchor bolt fixings every 400 centres) into concrete blocks on external skin of wall. In addition noggins between trusses to prevent them toppling over. I was going to use 2 x 4 to create trusses and noggins. Felt and baton to go on top and tiles with fascia sofit and guttering to finish.
Any help would be much appreciated?
