Does anyone know of any software that I could purchase to help with domestic circuit design fro re-wires and re-furbs. I would imagine it would be something like the interior designers and furniture people would use but with icons for electrical appliances etc.

Cheers

Isnt this the same question as one thats currently about 4 down from the top in this forum?

Yeah but seeing as I posted the question in Electrics UK I wouldn't have known.

Incidentally if admin read this I don't totally agree that this is necessarily a question for the software forum. I believe I would get more responses asking Sparkies who aren't necessarilly interested in reading a software forum but happen to use the stuff everyday.

As a result of the shift I reckon I am missing many potential responses.

Is there an echo in here? ;)

Nah, most of the regs trawl the forum so would have seen your post.

try www.autodesk.com they specialise in CAD packages from basic 2D upto full 3D parametric modellers. It is not cheap stuff but you can pick up older copies of AutoCAD LT (2D only) on Ebay fairly cheap as people sell them on when they upgrade to 3D packages.

You may then need to buy a separate library of electrical symbols unless you write you own and create a library. That'll be good practice in learning it anyway and save you some money.

Not much point in replying. The last post is nearly a year old.
