Quickie: Looking at the before and after pics; does this look like the interceptor has been removed leaving a straight run through?
....If it was straight run through, would there be constant standing water?
On flushing and observing, you see a 'replacement' cycle happening where only some gets pushed through by the amount that comes down- it never runs to empty?

I learned a little about interceptor traps here years ago. A post kindly responded to, confirming what we had, and what would keep happening- they were right!
Ours (neighbours and ours) sewage pipes join in this chamber. More than yearly blockages which I have been rodding. Rodding (top) pipe of interceptor has never had a 'bung/cap' in 25 years.
I finally called local water company. They said it's 'on them'. They visited and said the interceptor trap was broken down and offered to replace it with a 'straight run through'. In probing the lower pipe in the past I think I had found it broken (a headless rod would go off on an angle seemingly out of the pipe's direction). Suspect this was what they meant by 'broken down'.
My rods are elsewhere atm, so I cannot prove it's actually a clear pipe south of the chamber, but how could it be, with all the standing water there? My neighbour was around when they did it and said they weren't here long at all.
Any ideas of what they did and why, much appreciated. Cheers all.
