Could anyone tell me how I can remove a circlip from a door handle without having to resort to buying the specialist tool. The reason I have to do this is because the external face of this expensive handle has been accidentally scratched and I need to switch the inside to the outside and visa versa.

There're not that expensive, using the right tool could save you money.

I bought one from my local shop under a fiver, also see this

Would a pair of small long nose pliers do the job?

Thanks for your help, I did not realise they were that inexpensive and have decided to invest in a pair.
