Dormer Fascias - Flush With Cheeks Or With Soffit?

What's the most common and best looking (in your opinion) way to install fascias around a flat roof dormer?

1. Flush on the cheeks and front wall.
2. Flush on the cheeks but with a soffit on the front wall.
3. A soffit all around.

Also, is the correct way to install the cheek fascia boards at an angle (in line with the 'flat' roof gradient) or straight but with more felt overhanging at the rear of the roof than at the front?

Why have a soffit at all? Just a 10mm gap or something and then the fascia board so overall overhang of say 30-40mm.

I'm not sure why you would have a soffit. I'm going along the lines of what looks best?

Why do houses have soffits in the first place and why aren't they common on dormers?

Final question (!), should lead flashing be installed from under the edge of the felt to overlap the cheek tiles? The lead would then be hidden out of sight with the fascia board? A friend recommended this however I'm not convinced it's necessary.

All round soffit 100mm to 150mm looks good and makes for easy ventilation

No soffit looks a bit diy ish...imo

A lack of soffit looks pants.

Worst examples are lean-to roofs with zero soffit = ghastly.

It does not have to be warm roof at all.. there are often design issues that make it not possible in fact.

Good weathering and easy venting makes a soffit a plus point. IMO and thanks for the google warrior link.. I know what a dormer looks like...
