Hi!
I was hoping someone could give me some advice on how should I space the downlights on the landing area. I’ve read it’s meant to be 1 downlight per m2. However that doesn’t work with my landing and doesn’t look right.

i attached the floor plan of the landing and a rough idea how I spaced them out 500mm from walls and 800mm apart.

i put 5 lights in my plan, is that too much for 5.7 sqm?

let me know if that looks right to you or any advice would be helpful, thanks.

Don't install over the stairwell, think about future maintenance
I don’t think thats going to be an issue for me i can reach all parts of the ceiling comfortably. More concerned with spacing so the light spreads evenly.

If you want "even lighting" (and ease of maintenance) forget about (last century's) multiple downlights and just install a LED Panel Lamp (at the "top of the stairs"), which you will then probably never need to "maintain" for the rest of your life !
