Hope someone can help with this. Normally post in the Plumbing/Htg section as that is my trade.

I am replacing the element in my Dualit toaster. The replacement element has a clear plastic cellophane covering it. I was about to peel it off but is strikes me as not normal cellophane and figure I maybe heatproof and designed for further protection from a stray knife.

The cellophane is also crimped at the edges which further suggests it is part of the element.

So do I remove or not remove??

Thanks in advance

Simon

No you don't remove that it is part of the element. As far as I can remember only the black elements do not have that film on.

I take it you have the right element as I have seen people fit the middle elements at the ends and vice versa with some not very interesting results.
