Hello

Done lots of painting around the house in the past so not a total novice.

However, I'm going to repaint a couple of rooms. Bought dulux rich matt. But the paint seems really thick which is ok I guess. Was thinking about diluting the first coat. Is the ratio about 10% water? This way I've been told you get a better base and the finish is not so thick looking if you see what I mean. Should the second (finish) coat be diluted as well or not?

The walls are in good shape and each of the rooms have a much darker paint on them at the mo.

Any suggestions?

cheers

I always thin my emulsion a little to ease flow out.. I was brought up on the basis that two thin coats look bettr than one coat. Putting too thick a coat on will leave stodgy brush/ roller marks.
Good luck..
