Dulux Trade coverage

Hi

Can anyone shed some light on the coverage claims of Dulux trade paints?
On all the tins of vinyl matt it says that it covers up to 17sq m per litre. I have never got anywhere near this coverage (I have just used 5 litres to cover a 35 sq metre ceiling giving me 7 sq m per litre, and this was a totally flat ceiling using a medium pile roller - I even thinned the paint slightly to give it more flow).

Does anyone know what conditions these manufacturers test the product on to get such coverage?

They use a tooth brush on a piece of glass!..

Those figures are never realistic..they dont take into account wastages etc...remember a longish pile roller will hold about half a litre alone.

But 35m2 does sound very extreme, you should have got at least 50..
