We are planning a re-vamp of our kitchen. One thought was to move the built in electric oven into a larder/recess area in our kitchen space. the recess is 580mm deep, 1200mm wide and 2200mm high, currently there is a door at the front 600mm wide by 2000mm high, although we think this doorway space could be enlarged. We are concerned that although an oven would fit in this space the hot air venting at the back would be trapped in this recess. If we leave a ventilation space at the bottom of this recess and another at the top with vent grilles to the main kitchen area would this be sufficient ventilation? or do we need to do something more to ensure adequate ventilation?
Thanks Steve

The oven manufacture will specify the openings/ventilation required.
You need a chimney effect ie air in at the bottom front & pass up the back & out at the top of the cabinet
