Hiya, wondered if anyone could help.

We've just moved to our new house and the current electric shower has no power. We have a combi boiler so can't have a power shower?? and from my research the electric showers even at a higher KW are limited to approx 5l/min flow?

The water pressure is good so would the way forward be to get a thermostatic mixer to increase water output?

We have a young son so don't want to risk scalding but unsure if this (thermostatic) would work to control temp when a combi boiler is used?

Very grateful for any help. :D

A combi boiler is mains fed, and you can't legally pump mains water directly, that's why a power shower is out.
Water pressure will not help much with a combi boiler, you need to look at flowrates provided by the boiler instead. You could find that your current boiler with a mixer would be worse than a electric shower flow wise.
A properly commisioned thermostatic shower will prevent scalding, though in some instances the thermostat on the shower altering the flow will effect the flow through the combi altering the water temp out of it, causing the boiler and shower to "fight" each other to get temperatures / flow rates correct.
Do you know why there is no power to your electric shower, could it just be a fuse or breaker, perhaps the isolation switch is faulty ?
