Electric Showers - safe or not ?

B

Belrose

 The new house we shall shortly (hopefully...) be moving in to has three electric showers. We have always had mains showers (Aqualisa) and I am really quite nervous about the electric ones ! I haven't seen any reports of people coming to a nasty end but would nevertheless like some reassurance !

Thanks !

Nothing wrong with electric showers. If you want added safety then have an electrician fit an RCD to each one of them if they don't already have them.

As long as they are competently & correctly installed, have RCD protection & the supply can handle the load (or there is a system in place to prevent energisation of more than one unit at the same time), they should be safe.

:D Thank you very much Chivers 7 and securespark. I'll get our electrician to check that we have all the things you mention installed.

Your supply fuse or water supply might not like the possibility of 3 showers running at the same time

EDIT:Sorry Secure just re-read your bit about the loading
