Hello all,
just a quick question.. i've little time to get online so apologies if I take ages replying..

Basically, I am planning to fit an earth from the gas pipe (within the 600mm rule etc.. )

I have noticed that the central heating and the hot water system dont have a bonding.

So.. could I do the following and is it a good idea to do? being a bit fik and not understanding equipontal bonding thoroughly.. anyway is this acceptable? ;

external bond strap from external gas pipe at Meter ---> through wall cavity and into loft --> bond strap on one of the CH pipes out of tank that circulate to rads. --- > another bond strap on hot water supply to taps --> down inside stud wall ---- > Main earthing block thingy using 10mm2 earth wire, not cutting the wire but by cutting off insulation, then making a gap in the strands to fit intermediate bonding straps.

Any comments? :eek:

You only need to bond extraneous metalwork, so basically any metallic service which enters your house from the street.

Normally this is just the gas and water supply.
