Is it possible to replace the whole piece?

This is far and away the better soln.

There are 60A JB's around, but I would go for replacement.

The blood, sweat and tears will be worth it. And if it is the main run, while you're at it, you may as well replace it with 10mm2.

Some schools of thought say that SWA is a good bet.

And I've started to see people suggest 16mm as a good future-proof move. Not sure what they plan to do while they wait for the terminals in switches and showers to catch up though....
