Extension plans - DIY

In brief I am adding a single story extension to my house. It will require permission due to its size but I have been advised by several parties that it should not be an issue due to the neighbor already having one, backing onto empty land etc.

A friend of mine is having a very similar extension and has just paid £500 for his drawings alone. He has given me a copy and has suggested that knowing me and my skills he believes I can do all of these drawings my self.

I have already designed the the extension, it would simply be a case of marking up the drawings with finer details and adding the cross sections in.

Anyone have any useful website that i can reference?

He unfortunately did not ask the price upfront as they were referred to him and he assumed the price was reasonable

Local council should have recent planning applications on line. Just download a few similar ones to get an idea of what should be on there.
