Hi, I am currently renovating our bathroom and would like some advice on insulating the external wall.

The house was built in the early sixties and, as was typical then, the downstairs is mainly brick and upstairs it is part stud wall with felt and cladding on the outside and plasterboard on the inside. I have removed the internal plasterboard in the bathroom and found glass fibre loft insulation between the plasterboard and the external felt/cladding.

What should I replace this with before fitting the new plasterboard sheets. Can I just use loft insulation again or should I use something else.

Thanks for any help

Thanks for the advice. I have now used 50mm Celotex insulation board and it has gone in a treat.

Thanks again
